We have moved!

We are finally residents of Manor, Texas.

We closed on the house Tuesday at 3pm but we were told at closing that the seller of the house would not be signing his part of the documents until the following day so the house was not officially ours. We signed our part and headed for Laredo. On our way to Laredo Jeremy received a call from the driver of the truck that would be moving us and he wanted to verify all of the information for the upcoming days. For starters he had the Laredo address wrong as well as the Manor address. The person that provided him with information obviously did not do so well. He thought that he was taking the load to Maynard, Texas, rather than Manor. The truck driver was excited when he found out that it was really Manor because he lives in the Bastrop area so he would be able to spend a couple of nights at home.

Wednesday morning rolls around and the guys are at the Laredo house at 8am and ready to get started. They told us that they would spend the day packing, Thursday they would spend the day loading and Friday they would deliver our stuff in Manor. We really thought that there was no way that each day would be a full day but they proved us wrong. The "movers" consisted of only 2 guys and they were great. We visited the entire time they were packing things and Jeremy and I were sitting around watching them. Thursday Jeremy and I sat around and watched as they loaded and Friday we walked around and watched as they unloaded everything since we didn't have any furniture yet to sit on.

This move was definitely one for the books because we have never experienced something like this. We have always moved our own things with a lot of help from family and friends and this time we sat back and didn't do a thing. It was nice but at the same time, we felt very lazy because of watching them work. We asked if there was anything that we could do and they pretty much told us that the best thing is for us to just stay out of the way; so we did.
