Baby Hasty on the way!

Yes, you read that correctly. We are having a baby. I went to the doctor for the first time this past Monday and everything is going well. I am 7 weeks this week and we got to see our little "baby Hasty." My due date is July 8 which is very close to our niece who has a birthday on July 4. We are excited and have a lot to look forward to over the next few months.

RIP Richie

Jeremy's uncle Richie passed away last Friday, October 16, 2009 very unexpectedly. He will be remembered for making great dressing for both Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

Oktoberfest 2009

This weekend Jeremy and I went to the Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg. My Aunt Betty and Uncle Don invited us for the day on Saturday and we took them up on the offer. Jeremy tried out some different beers and we had a good time, despite the rain.
Aunt Betty and Uncle Don and Jeremy and I both tried out the German attire.

Don't forget that tomorrow, Tuesday October 6, is National Night Out. Get outside and meet your neighbors. Jeremy and I plan to attend the party in our neighborhood....I'll let you know how it turns out.

Fun Fun Fun

Today we returned from San Angelo. Jeremy helped his dad at the deer lease this weekend and we also went to the Grape Creek football game Friday night. Grape Creek is where Jeremy went to high school and played football and this weekend happened to be their homecoming. We also got to spend some time with our niece Payton this weekend....she is such a cutie, as you can see for yourself!

Last weekend Jeremy and I went to Brenham for the county fair. We had a lot of fun. Congratulations to Paige for winning first place in the talent show. She sang a Taylor Swift song and did a great job.
I also included a picture of Jeremy and Julie in this post. Somehow I always have pictures of them together and I totally miss out on pictures with my own husband...go figure!
Also Congratulations to Alyssa and Nathan on their engagement. I got a call from Alyssa today letting me know that while they were on their vacation this past week Nathan finally popped the question.....and she said yes!! We are super excited for them and can't wait for their big day.

Loving the holiday!

It's Sunday evening and Jeremy and I are super excited that we don't have to go to work tomorrow. We are both only working three days this week because we have the holiday Monday and we are both off Friday so that we can get to Brenham for my brothers wedding.
Today I returned from San Antonio because Amy's bachelorette party was this weekend. We left for San Antonio Friday and got back today. Jeremy went to see his family and spend the weekend with them at their lake house on Lake Buchanan and he too returned today.
This week is sure to pass by quickly and the wedding will be here.
Longhorns won their opening game yesterday-- Hook Em Horns!!

Adios Laredo!!

The house is SOLD! All the documents are signed and the check is almost in...we have to mail it tomorrow but the buyers part is all done so we are considering ourselves free of the Laredo house. We are so grateful that it moved as fast as it did because we expected to have to sit on it longer than just three months, with the housing market the way it is right now.

Catching up...

I am a little behind on posting so I have a few things to say....all good!!

Congratulations to Brenna (Schmidt) and Mike Clements on their beautiful wedding this past weekend. Everything was beautiful and we had a great time. I also got to see my bestie Brooke Copelin as her baby shower was this past weekend in Chappell Hill. She is such a cute pregnant woman...I'll try to post some pictures soon!

Happy belated Anniversary to my parents. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this past Tuesday. What an awesome milestone in their life and what great role models for us.

We have received an update on the Laredo house. As of now we are supposed to receive the closing documents this coming week, we will sign them and fedex them back to the title company. We are super pumped about the closing being so soon because that means we won't make another payment on that house...we just have to pay off the debt due to the house selling for less than what we owe on it. We were a little bummed about not having to go to Laredo because we wanted to see everyone one more time but we decided that it's probably best right now since we have so much other stuff going on with my brothers upcoming wedding, and it's not like we have a house to live in down there so we would have to pay for a hotel. We plan to make a trip soon though so that we can see everyone.

This weekend is sure to be fun. Gretchen is on her way to visit for the weekend as I type this update and Jeremy has peaced out for the weekend. He decided that he didn't want to be left alone with all the girl talk so he went to spend the weekend with his dad at their lake house on Lake Buchanan. Crystal was supposed to join us on Saturday but something came up so she is not able to.

I also want to congratulate Alyssa for graduating with her RN degree. She finished school this past week and I know that it has been tough for her working full time and being a full time student. We are proud of you Alicia (that's what Jeremy and I call her...it's a long story).

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

update!

This past weekend was great. We went to Brenham Friday night and helped prepare for the garage sale that we were having Saturday morning at mom and dads house. We had a great time laughing at all the junk and old clothes that was being put in the garage sale. My dad has a modeling side to him that I have never seen before....it was hilarious!
Saturday morning was the garage sale and we did okay. The one time that we were all prepared and organized by 7am, we didn't have our first customer until nearly 8am. Typically, they are knocking down the door at 6:30, but not this time.
The best part of the weekend came Saturday afternoon/evening.....Jeremy and I went to see George Strait in Houston. We not only saw George Strait but we saw Blake Shelton and Sugarland. They all performed wonderfully and I would definitely be willing to see Sugarland and George Strait again in the future. I have added some pictures for you to check out.

The weekend's over

It's a sad thing but we must return to work tomorrow. I just don't know why I have not been feeling work lately. I don't want to go to begin with and then when I am there I am never in the mood to work and by 2pm I am so ready to go home; it's sad because I really like what I do most of the time.
We went to Shelby Saturday evening to help my Aunt Betty and Uncle Donald celebrate their retirement. It was an outdoor party and the wind was blowing like crazy so it didn't feel so bad out there. Happy retirement to them!!
Today we finally sold the stove that was originally in this house when we bought it. We brought our appliances from Laredo and decided that we would just sell the ones that were already here on Cragislist. Last week I finally cleaned up the stove, took some pictures and listed it on Craigslist. We had several interested people but finally today a guy emailed us and said that he wanted it and he came to pick it up today so we have one less thing taking up space in the garage. Now if we can just get the trash pick-up scheduled with the movers our garage will be nice and clean.
Hope that everyone has a wonderful week!

Happy Friday!

It's finally Friday after somewhat of a long week. We have a nice relaxing weekend in store for us. The only plans we have is to attend a retirement party for my Aunt Betty/Uncle Don. I find it pretty cool that they are both retiring within a couple of months of each other. I hope that they enjoy their time together!
Yesterday was my mother-in-laws birthday so Happy Birthday Lisa! I hope that your day was great!
We have not heard anything new on the Laredo house. Our realtor is on vacation until early next week so I am assuming that we will know more when she returns.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Stay Cool!

Happy Friday!

We got an offer on the house!!

We finally got an offer on our house and we are so super excited! A couple of weeks ago we lowered the price a bit because the new houses around ours were selling for cheaper and I think it has paid off. We will definitely be in the hole for a while but we can take care of that quickly and be well on our way to bigger and better things. The buyers want to close by the end of August so we will keep our fingers crossed that everything will work out. If course we are just entering the ten day option period so we will hold our breathe slightly for the next ten days and hope for the best. I will keep you posted!

Another weekend has passed

It's Monday again and hopefully this week will be a good one. We had a nice relaxing weekend to prepare us for the week. The Fischers came to visit on Sunday and see our house and we had a good time visiting with them because we don't see them as often as we used to.
Jeremy received a call Saturday evening from the realtor for the Laredo house and she said that there would be someone submitting an offer on our house Monday. We haven't heard anything yet but hopefully by the end of the business day we will hear from her. We are really hoping that it's close to what we have the house listed at because we are already going to take a hit on the house. We will keep you posted.

It's almost Friday!

It's almost Friday and I can't wait. This week has been dragging and it has been rough at work. This weekend it will be so nice to relax. I have a shower for Amy on Saturday morning but that's it so we will be spending the rest of the weekend at home just hanging out. In a couple of weeks we will be going to a wedding and I will be going to a baby shower all in the same day. My best friend Brooke is expecting her first baby....and it's a boy. She will be visiting from Colorado to attend the wedding of a high school friend so her family is giving her a shower while she is here. I can't wait to see her...and her belly!
Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool!

Pray for Rain

We are back from the weekend trip to San Angelo....and it feels wonderful to make it home in only four hours (compared to 7 hours to Laredo) and to stay in one place once we return. We enjoyed Payton's (our niece) first birthday party Saturday night. Her birthday was actually on July 4th but they had the party Saturday night and the theme was still red, white and blue. It was fun and she got tons of gifts.
Upon our return we recevied a notice that we are in stage 1 water restrictions. The note indicates that we can only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays. That is going to be a huge adjustment for our yard because we have been watering every night. It really stinks because we are trying to get our yard to look like something (other than dead grass) and now we have to cut back on the watering. Hopefully it will rain soon so that we can increase our watering again.
Pray for rain!

Happy Monday!

The fourth of July weekend has come and gone and it was great; we did nothing. Well we actually worked around the house and got some more things in order. We decided not to go anywhere for the holiday and the restful time was very much needed. We don't have a lot going on right now other than getting to enjoy coming home to each other every evening after work; it's been different but I think I can get used to this....thank goodness because Jeremy tells me I'm stuck. I really don't mind at all. This coming weekend we will be celebrating our niece's 1st birthday so lots of fun in the near future.
Have a great week!

We have moved!

We are finally residents of Manor, Texas.

We closed on the house Tuesday at 3pm but we were told at closing that the seller of the house would not be signing his part of the documents until the following day so the house was not officially ours. We signed our part and headed for Laredo. On our way to Laredo Jeremy received a call from the driver of the truck that would be moving us and he wanted to verify all of the information for the upcoming days. For starters he had the Laredo address wrong as well as the Manor address. The person that provided him with information obviously did not do so well. He thought that he was taking the load to Maynard, Texas, rather than Manor. The truck driver was excited when he found out that it was really Manor because he lives in the Bastrop area so he would be able to spend a couple of nights at home.

Wednesday morning rolls around and the guys are at the Laredo house at 8am and ready to get started. They told us that they would spend the day packing, Thursday they would spend the day loading and Friday they would deliver our stuff in Manor. We really thought that there was no way that each day would be a full day but they proved us wrong. The "movers" consisted of only 2 guys and they were great. We visited the entire time they were packing things and Jeremy and I were sitting around watching them. Thursday Jeremy and I sat around and watched as they loaded and Friday we walked around and watched as they unloaded everything since we didn't have any furniture yet to sit on.

This move was definitely one for the books because we have never experienced something like this. We have always moved our own things with a lot of help from family and friends and this time we sat back and didn't do a thing. It was nice but at the same time, we felt very lazy because of watching them work. We asked if there was anything that we could do and they pretty much told us that the best thing is for us to just stay out of the way; so we did.

The end of the hotel stay!!

Tonight is our final night in this hotel. We have a lot to do this evening to get everything packed up and loaded in our vehicles so that we can check out of here tomorrow. Over the past weeks we have been bringing more and more in here and now it's time to carry it all out. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the closing will stand at 3pm tomorrow so that we can head to Laredo to meet the movers Wednesday morning. We will be without internet until the weekend when Time Warner can come to the new house and get things set up. Don't expect posts until then and I will try to get some pictures of the house uploaded real soon.

Closing has been scheduled!

We got word today that the closing on the house has been scheduled for Tuesday at 3pm. We are hoping that everything will go smoothly between now and then because the packing team will arrive at the Laredo house on Wednesday between 8am and 10am. We are really excited because we only have three nights left in the hotel. We are leaving tomorrow (Friday) to go to Brenham for the weekend so we won't be back until Sunday and we get to check out of here on Tuesday. Lot of fun things going on in the near future.

Happy Anniversary!!

This is just one of the silly pics that we ended up
with on our one year anniversary. My mom did a great job at wrapping the cake last year because it tasted wonderful on our one year anniversary!

we made it to our first anniversary

Happy Anniversary to us! We made it one year! I must say that it hasn't been a long year, just a difficult one since not living together until about three weeks ago. My mom told us last weekend that it's hard to believe that we have been living apart for so long and that is so true because while we were doing it, we didn't think anything of it, but looking back on it now...it's crazy that we were driving back and forth to see each other for nearly two years. We decided over the weekend that we would leave Laredo earlier Sunday afternoon so that we could get back to Austin in time to watch the Longhorns play in the College World Series. We were about 45 minutes into our trip and realized that Jeremy had forgotten his work clothes. They were all still hanging in the closet in Laredo so we had to turn around and go get those. Needless to say we didn't make it to Austin by 6.
We decided to not do much for our anniversary since we are about to be moving into the house and will be covering two house payments for a while. We actually have tickets to go see George Strait, Sugarland, Julianna Hough, and Blake Shelton in August so we are going to consider that our anniversary gift to each other as well as just finally living together. Our goal was to live together by our first anniversary and we made that goal by three weeks!
Hopefully this week will fly by so that we can close on the house next week and get everything moved in. We are so ready to be out of the hotel.

closer to closing

We are supposed to close on the house in a week and a half however we might not make our deadline. We knew after having the inspection completed on the house last week that there are two areas of the roof that need to be fixed. We figured that we would end up paying for that because the seller of the home is absolutely broke and the bank that has posession of the house is not willing to work with us at all as they are already taking a hit on the house. We learned today that the roof must be fixed before we can close on the house because the appraiser will not complete the job until that is done. So....the selling agent is going to cover the cost of those repairs (as of today) so that we can move forward with closing. Because of this issue, we might not be able to close on time as this may push everything back a day.
We are ready to get out of this hotel so we are hoping that everything will remain close to being on track. We are okay with things being pushed back one day but not much more than that because we already have the movers, cleaners and exterminator scheduled and we don't want to have to change all of those appts.

Inspection complete!

We had the inspection completed on the house today and everything looks good. There were two things noted, the roof and a switch in the sub panel. The roof has two places that need some shingles replaced. So we are working on that to determine who is going to have to pay for it since the bank is actually the ones we are dealing with since the previous homeowner is behind on his payments. Everything looks like we might be on schedule to close on June 22...keeping our fingers crossed since we have to give the moving company two weeks notice.

lot's of time has passed

It has been months since I have posted a blog but I would really like to get better at keeping up with this. I know that I enjoy being able to keep up with others this way so I know that I need to do better. There have been many changes that have taken place since I last posted a blog.
The first thing that happened was in January 2009. Jeremy and I purchased our first home. We decided that we would make Laredo home for a while since there didn't seem to be any way that he was getting out of there anytime soon. We found a house and decided to purchase it. We moved in with hopes that I would be finding a job down there really soon because we knew that we could not continue on forever with not living with each other.
Then something amazing happened....seven days after we closed on our house in Laredo there were 16 job openings for Jeremy. There had not been job openings in months and then all of a sudden there were 16 and one of them was Austin. We were so excited but knew that we could be let down just like we had several times before and in addition to all the other emotions, what would we do with our new house. Jeremy applied for the job in Austin as well as several others and weeks later...I mean weeks later, we finally got word that he received the promotion to the position in Austin.
He was told to report to Austin on May 26 so I started job searching in Austin. After completing applications and submitting resumes I was offered a different position with D&S in South Austin. After thinking everything over....mainly the $$...I decided to take the offer and I too would start full time on May 26 in the South Austin D&S office.
We put our house in Laredo on the market however as of today we have not had anyone interested in it. We have found a new house in the Manor area and we are scheduled to close on June 22.
You might wonder where we are living now. We are in an extended stay hotel. Jeremy's job will pay for us to be here for 30 nights so we are taking advantage of it until we can get into our house. This time around we also won't be moving our own things as that is something else that Jeremy's job pays for. When we first found out that we were moving I was so excited that I immediatly began packing things up; only to find out that the movers will be unpacking what I have packed and re-packing it. I am a little nervous about someone else handling all of my things but it will be really nice to leave everything in it's place until the moving team walks through the door. They will pack and load everything in the Laredo house and unpack everything at the new house, we just have to tell them which room we want it in. I will definitely keep you posted on that experience as this is something new to us.
I am going to do better about updating the blog so check back soon.
